We are home with art
a legacy project of mothers and daughters
If not now…when? The story that began as dreams that woke me very early in the morning has now blossomed into Home With Art, a legacy project. I invited my daughters into this adventure, as I know their talents so well. As creatives, our aim is to create art that reflects our love for the visual delight that wraps around all of us. We believe that experiencing beautiful art increases our ability to thrive wherever we find ourselves. We hope that you will find connection to our work that increases your enjoyment of your surroundings.
"Beauty will save the world"
Welcome! I’m so glad you are here! I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to create something beautiful. That passion has been my compass through decades of professional design work…and now, painting!
With a background in art and interior design, I’ve spent my career creating beautiful residential spaces, landscapes, gardens, art and design. I’m channeling all of that experience into Home With Art—a legacy project with my daughters and a dream come true.
I work mainly in acrylics — loose landscapes, animals, and people — with pen and ink when traveling. More than subject or composition, I'm drawn to the paint itself: jagged strokes, layered color, the intersection and overlap where the paint meets and unruly lines that trail off somewhere unplanned. Those small, seemingly random details excite me. They're little artworks in their own right, and I find something beautiful in a brushstroke that looks almost sloppy. This probably explains my love of blind contour drawing — look no further than Beatrice from the Inspire series, a happy accident I adore. Each painting in my collection includes a detailed view so you can see exactly what I mean.
Home With Art is where all of it comes together — the decades, the design, the painterly happy accidents. I'm so grateful to be building it alongside my daughters, and even more grateful you've found your way here. Look around, linger a little, and enjoy.

"Art and animals bring profound joy and healing into people's lives."
I’ve always been drawn to animals and deeply committed to animals in my life…I have about 30 of them right now on our farm, and wouldn’t mind more! My journey with painting began in high school when I was introduced to oil painting, though now I work almost exclusively in acrylics. That first art class ignited something in me—I enjoyed the hours at my easel, in my high school painting class, exploring color and texture, developing my technique and discovering my own artistic voice in painting.
Animal portraits have always been my primary focus. As a matter of fact, I really enjoy the challenge they present—capturing their unique personality and spirit. The eyes are essential; they communicate expression, yes, but more importantly, I believe that eyes are the window to the soul (somebody famous said that!). This is where I invest careful attention in my work, creating that intimate connection between subject and viewer..eyes meeting eyes. As my style continues to evolve, I strive for a realism that remains loose and painterly—vibrant and colorful. It’s that beautiful calming combination that brings healing and delight into our lives - the best of both of my worlds - animals and art together on canvas.

“The beauty of creating has been a constant in my life with my family”
From a young age, ever since I can remember, I have loved creating and making things. Whether I was drawing, painting, or creating “sculpy” clay food and accessories for my dolls… creating had a very strong pull in how I spent my time as a child with my sister and mom. I think it’s part of our DNA! I receive joy from creating and art, using different mediums. My current hand craft art expression is an interest in plants and flowers. In my professional life I arrange florals, and create graphic art with pen and ink. Other forms of art I’ve enjoyed lately are watercolor, calligraphy, and embroidery…there’s something to be said for old lady hobbies!
However, most interesting to me in the creative field is something altogether new. I’ve found my passion for social media content creation and design. I’m an individual who has a strong attention to detail (my mom says I’ve been keeping her on track forever!) and keen inspiration for branding, driven by bringing stories to life through compelling marketing narratives and making visually pleasing moments that grab the viewer’s attention. Perhaps this kind of art can tell a story much like a painting!

“Art and thriving are just words for naps in the studio with treats”
Some of us are called to do and make, and some of us are called to just be. I have happily accepted my role as furry distraction and constant companion in the studio, where I get lots of snuggles.
I like the treats and soft music in my painting studio in the garden. I have a basket where I sleep. I have what I need. I have long naps and occasionally tackle little lizards. (Birds are off limits…that is too violent, I’m told.)
So, I have a happy existence as support staff—providing levity with my waddly, furry, extremely soft self. My BEAUTIFUL self…with too many CULTIVATED fur knots to talk about at this juncture.
